Naqaab girl Urvashi Sharma, who had vanished from the big screen for quite a sometime after Khatta Meetha, is back with director Imran Khalid’s next ‘On The Ramp’. Ask Urvashi about the film which is based on Delhi’s fashion circuit and she says, “It’s a film about a guy who wants to make it big in the fashion world. It’s a movie based on a real life incident and not just about anybody’s take on the fashion industry.
I am playing the role of a receptionist who becomes a super model.” So, is this film on similar lines of Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion? “Not at all, it’s all together a different film.
Unlike 'Fashion', which showed the inside happenings of the industry in a negative way, this film will show it from the outsider’s view and will reflect the positive side of fashion. In fact, no casting couch thing will be shown and thus the film will give hope to aspiring models.” Urvashi’s sister Sucheta Sharma being a model is helping the actress in playing her model’s character. She reveals, “For my character I tried to grasp the style of walking from my sister Sucheta who’s a model. I can’t walk the way she does but I wish I could.” The actress, who’s currently shooting for the film promos, adds, “Its fun to work with good and senior actors as you get to learn so many things from them. Thus, I am having a great time working with Ranvir Shorey who has a great sense of humour. And I am just looking forward to start shooting with Shabana Azmi who’s a great actress.”
